We use TeamSpeak for in game communication.

You can download the client from: http://www.goteamspeak.com

Quick Start

Once you have the client installed, go the following website and click on the 'click here' button:

After connecting, you will be in the Unregistered Lounge.

You now need to pick a button which you will press when you want to speak:

  • Select menu option Settings -> Sound Input/Output Settings.
  • Make sure the 'Push to talk' option is selected.
  • Click 'Set' and pick a key which you will press when you want to talk.
  • Make sure you can hear yourself when you click 'Active local test mode' and press your selected key.
  • If you have any problems with your microphone being too quiet, look here.

All good? Now you need to register an account...

Registration

Registering with the server will allow you to move get out of the Unregistered Lounge.

Send a message to Horrigan asking for the rights to register on the TeamSpeak server. Let him know who you are currently connected as (you will be something like GuestX where X is a number - look at the bottom of your TeamSpeak window).

Once you have the rights to register (you should hear 'registration status granted'):

  • Select menu option Self -> Register With Server
  • Enter a username and password which you will use to log onto the server (make a note of both the username and password!). Click OK and you should now be registered (an 'R' next to your name).
  • Select menu option Connection -> Connect
  • Right click on 'Servers' and select 'Add Server'
  • Type in a label for the server e.g. 'The Enclave TS'.
  • Put in the server IP as: 72.37.204.124:8829
  • Pick a nickname to be known in TS as. This can be different from your actual username.
  • Make sure the 'Registered' option is selected.
  • Enter your username and password that you used when registering to the server.
  • Click 'Connect'. You should now be connected to the server as a registered user ('R' next to your name). You should now be able to join the WoW channels.
  • Troubleshooting

    Voice too quiet?

You need to make sure your microphone volume is at max and you have microphone boost enabled. This is how you do it:

  • Bring up volume control. One way to do this is:
Start -> Accessories -> Entertainment -> Volume Control
  • Select menu option Options -> Properties
  • Select the 'Recording' option under 'Adjust record for'
  • Make sure 'Microphone' is selected under 'Show the following volume controls'
  • Click OK
  • Make sure the microphone is set to the maximum setting (i.e. highest).
  • Make sure 'Select' is checked for the Microphone.
  • Click the 'Advanced' button under Microphone (if it is not there, enable it by selecting menu option 'Options -> Advanced Controls'). In the screen that appears, make sure 'Microphone +20dB Boost' is enabled.
  • Your microphone should now be set up correctly.
